While Tudor Dixon campaigns on attacking teachers over baseless and unfounded accusations of “indoctrination” in Michigan’s schools, it’s time to take a look at her extremely limited and incredibly biased education “experience” – during which she started a company dedicated to imbuing conservative material into schools designed to influence students and subsequently used that company as a jumping off point to launch an even larger effort to spread misinformation.

In 2017, Dixon co-founded Lumen Student News – “a subscription-based news service” to influence students with a biased view of history.  When her attempts to spread conservative ideology through schools hit a dead end, Dixon decided to use the company as a springboard to an even bigger platform where she could spout misinformation and discriminatory beliefs.

While at Real America’s Voice, a conservative commentary network with a dubious relationship with the truth, Dixon showed her true colors and made countless offensive statements, including calling Hijabs oppressive garments, suggesting Iranian women who marry without the consent of their parents are being “murdered by their own family,” and excusing a comedian’s use of Black face.

TO RECAP:

Dixon has spent years working to undermine public education, including creating Lumen Student News to spread her conservative beliefs and indoctrinate students. Michigan’s teachers, parents, and students deserve the critical support and resources needed for high-quality education – not the slashed funding and misinformation Dixon would force on schools.
