The Democratic National Committee (DNC)  is launching a new organizing program with a focus on diverse, local talent beginning in nine target states to get on the ground early ahead of the midterm elections and to elect Democrats up and down the ballot. The Campaign Pipeline Project is a train-to-hire boot camp pipeline at the DNC with the goal of supporting states in their recruitment, training, and hiring of diverse, talented, and local staff for specific roles and skill sets on coordinated campaigns. The first group of organizers hired will focus on building critical supporter and volunteer infrastructure, utilizing state-of-the-art distributed organizing methods. The same distributed organizing model was leveraged during the Biden-Harris campaign, allowing them to mobilize and train the largest volunteer program in presidential campaign history. The program will kick off with a series of boot camps to offer young people the tools for success with the goal of embedding them in state parties and coordinated campaigns by September 1.

“In order to win, next year and in the future, our party must invest in young and diverse talent,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. “Through the Campaign Pipeline Project, the DNC will be able to identify, train, and embed young, diverse staff in communities across the country to ensure that Democrats are on the ground, and on the ground early. These organizers will build the foundation in key states across the country that Democratic campaigns will rest upon. Their work could not be more essential to our success.”

This program is the first announcement we’ve made as part of the initial $20 million investment in our midterms strategy that Chair Harrison announced earlier this year. Target states include: Virginia, New Jersey, Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. Organizers in Virginia and New Jersey will be redistributed to other states following the elections this year. Similar to our 2020 Organizing Corps program, the Campaign Pipeline Project is committed to hiring diverse, local talent that best represents the states and communities these organizers will work in.
