Today, the Democratic National Committee is launching a new five-figure ad buy targeting parents in Florida blasting Ron DeSantis following recent reporting that he is the only governor in the country who is refusing to order lifesaving COVID-19 vaccine doses for children under five years old. In his own words, DeSantis says, “there’s not going to be any state programs that are going to be trying to get Covid jabs to infants and toddlers and newborns. That’s not something that we think is appropriate.”
The ad will run on Facebook and YouTube targeting parents across Florida. It asks why DeSantis is refusing to help vaccinate Florida’s children as hospitals and physicians in the state scramble to protect them from a virus that has killed over 400 children under five.
“Floridians deserve to know that Ron DeSantis is the only governor in the country who willfully chose not to pre-order COVID-19 vaccine doses for children under the age of five. Because of DeSantis’s political stunts, hundreds of thousands of kids and their families will now have a much harder time accessing the lifesaving protection they need,” said DNC States Communications Director Brooke Goren.
