DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and DNC Seniors Council Chair Steve Regenstreif released the following joint statement to commemorate Older Americans Month:

“This month we celebrate the strength and contributions of older Americans. At this moment in time, after a year where older Americans have shown their resilience through trial, the theme ‘Communities of Strength’ is most appropriate. As workers, volunteers, and advocates, their expertise and experience make our communities stronger.

“Now, it is our nation’s duty to honor the lives of those who spent a lifetime ensuring the success of future generations. From President Biden’s proposed investments in the caregiver economy to his proposed improvements to our nation’s health care system, Democrats are working to strengthen our policies and programs that support seniors thriving both in the workforce and in retirement. This month, we give our gratitude to the generation who paved the way for younger generations and helped build our nation.”
