Today, President Biden is once again taking action to lower health care costs and expand health care coverage for over one million Americans by fixing the Affordable Care Act’s family glitch. This stands in stark contrast to Republican lawmakers who are doubling down on their plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act, raise health care premiums, gut preexisting condition protections, and do nothing to lower the cost of insulin or prescription drugs.

President Biden and Democrats are using every tool at their disposal to bring down health care and prescription drug costs, and make health care more accessible for American families.

Kaiser Family Foundation’s Larry Levitt: “Fixing the family glitch is the biggest step the Biden Administration could take without Congress to improve affordability under the ACA.”

HuffPost: “The Biden administration is proposing a major policy change that it believes will help 200,000 uninsured Americans get comprehensive health plans while making coverage cheaper for an additional 1 million people.”

New York Times: “House Passes Bill to Limit Cost of Insulin to $35 a Month”

Ron Johnson said the quiet part out loud – if Republicans take control of the government, they would try to repeal the Affordable Care Act, raising health care premiums and undermining protections for preexisting conditions, which sounds just fine to Republican Senate candidates.

Washington Post: “Sen. Ron Johnson says Obamacare should be repealed if GOP wins power back”

Axios: “Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said in an interview Monday that the GOP should repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, if Republicans retake control of the White House and Congress in 2024.”

Atlanta Journal-Constitution: “At the northeast Georgia Republican candidate forum over the weekend, four Republican Senate contenders each signaled support for repealing the Affordable Care Act.”

Just weeks after Chuck Grassley admitted Republican majorities would do nothing to lower prescription drug prices, the overwhelming majority of House Republicans voted AGAINST capping the cost of insulin at $35 per month.

Vanity Fair: “GOP MAKES ‘PRICE GOUGE DIABETICS ON INSULIN’ PART OF ITS OFFICIAL PARTY PLATFORM”

The Independent: “Most House Republicans vote against lowering the price of insulin”

MSNBC: “Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley conceded a few weeks ago that if his party controls either chamber of Congress after the midterm elections, the effort to lower the cost of any prescription medications will effectively collapse.”
