IN THE STATES: Biden, Dems Deliver for American Families

In the states this week, President Biden traveled west to tout the Biden-Harris administration’s infrastructure work and establish a new national monument, showing how the administration continues to deliver results and build a better America.

In California, the president highlighted how the historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is helping to improve public transit, create jobs and opportunity, and reduce pollution across the country. And in Colorado, the president established the first new national monument of his presidency: the Camp Hale – Continental Divide National Monument.

Also this week, the Social Security Administration announced that seniors’ Social Security benefits will increase by 8.7% next year — putting more money directly into Americans’ pockets. But while President Biden and Democrats are protecting and strengthening Social Security and Medicare, Republicans want to put the critical programs on the chopping block.

The manufacturing boom for electric vehicles under President Biden and Democrats’ leadership continued this week as Honda and LG have committed more than $5 billion toward electric vehicle battery manufacturing and factory retooling across Ohio. This announcement comes no thanks to Ohio Republicans, who all voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, which has spurred investment in manufacturing jobs like these ones.

And with less than a month until Election Day, Republicans are still doubling down on their extreme and dangerous anti-choice agenda — despite their positions being extremely unpopular and out of touch with Americans. But Democrats are continuing to hold them accountable while fighting to protect women’s freedom to make their own health care decisions.
