In the states this week, President Biden and Democrats delivered major wins for the American people, dealing a blow to entrenched special interests and the Republicans who are pushing their agenda.

While Senate Democrats passed the Inflation Reduction Act to lower the price of prescription drugs, home energy, and more, Republicans blocked a provision that would have capped insulin costs at $35 a month for people with private insurance, prioritizing Big Pharma over making prescription drug prices like insulin cheaper for American families.

On Tuesday, President Biden signed the CHIPS and Science Act into law — which will lower costs, create American jobs, and increase competitiveness with China – no thanks to the majority of House and Senate Republicans who sided with China and voted against the bill. This historic legislation is already bringing good news to American manufacturers and job seekers across the states.

Also this week, President Biden signed into law the PACT Act to ensure veterans get the health care benefits they’ve earned — after Senate Republicans temporarily held up the crucial bill to try and score political points.

In addition, the national average of gas prices fell under $4 a gallon. This week marks the eighth in a row that gas prices have declined, and shows that President Biden’s effort to stand up to oil and gas companies and counter Putin’s price hike at the pump is working.
