As GOP legislators in states like Ohio push forward with extreme plans to ban not only abortions but also access to some contraceptives, House and Senate Republicans must answer a simple question: Do they support these efforts to restrict women’s rights in their own states?

The Columbus Dispatch: “[State Rep. Gary] Click’s bill, which is being co-sponsored by seven other lawmakers, could also potentially ban other forms of birth control such as intrauterine devices (or certain IUDs) that interfere with an already fertilized ova.”

And while they’re at it, every Republican should have to answer a simple question of whether they support a national abortion ban.

Do you agree with efforts at the state level to pass total abortion bans and would you vote for a federal abortion ban?

REMINDER: These are just some of the GOP-led states with abortion bans — already in effect or soon to be — that do not allow rape victims to make their own health care decisions:

  • Alabama
  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Mississippi
  • Missouri
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • West Virginia
