The Republican Party has been at war with itself over the future of the party after Trump was decisively defeated and then incited and encouraged a deadly insurrection at the Capitol. Instead of choosing the side of democracy and the vast majority of the American people, the Republican Party has chosen extremism and is doubling down on Trump.

Trump is threatening revenge on any Republican who tries to buck him and the far-right extremist direction of the party.

The former president is planning to back 2022 primary challengers against Republicans who refused to help him overturn the election, aides said. That list ranges from Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp to U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming.”
The faces of the new Republican Party show the extent of Trump’s takeover, like Marjorie Taylor Greene who supported executing politicians.
