Following the radical and chaotic Republican gubernatorial field’s eighth and final primary debate, MDP Chair Lavora Barnes issued the following statement:

“With less than a week until the primary, the radical GOP candidates flubbed another opportunity to make a case about why they should lead Michigan. Instead, they continued to push dangerous plans that threaten to slash funding for law enforcement, dismantle public education, and put an end to critical infrastructure projects – and made clear once again that they cannot match Governor Whitmer’s strong record of working with anyone to lower costs, grow our economy, fix the roads, and improve schools. No matter who makes it out of this embarrassing circus next Tuesday, Governor Whitmer will continue delivering results for hardworking families and put Michigan first.”
