Today, Trump will meet with Republican attorneys general to discuss a Supreme Court brief that makes no sense and doesn’t even allege fraud, filed by Republicans in red states where Trump didn’t even contest the election. Despite all the noise and Trump’s continued efforts to undermine our democracy, the truth is evident and will not change: Joe Biden will be the next president of the United States. Full stop.

17 Republican attorneys general of states where Trump has not contested the election results joined Texas’s far-fetched lawsuit to back Trump.

New York Times: “17 Republican Attorneys General Back Trump in Far-Fetched Election Lawsuit”

New York Times: “The move is an attempt to bolster a baseless legal effort by Texas that seeks to delay certification of the presidential electors in four battleground states that Mr. Trump lost.”

Texas’s senior senator said that the lawsuit makes no sense and asked why one state would have a say in other states’ elections.

Texas Senator Cornyn: “I frankly struggle to understand the legal theory of it.”

Texas Senator Cornyn: “Why would a state, even such a great state as Texas, have a say so on how other states administer their elections?”

Trump intervened in Texas’s lawsuit and his brief to the Supreme Court makes it clear that he’s not even alleging fraud.

Reuters’s Brad Heath: “Despite all the rhetoric about election fraud, though, President Trump’s brief to the Supreme Court makes clear that he’s not alleging fraud.”

Trump’s allies lost two more cases yesterday and a judge wondered why the plaintiffs came to court without any reliable evidence.

Business Insider: “Federal judges in Arizona and Wisconsin on Wednesday dismissed two sweeping lawsuits filed by the pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell, which aimed to overturn the election results in both states.”

Arizona Judge: “Such a request should then be accompanied by clear and concise facts. Yet the Complaint’s allegations are sorely wanting of relevant or reliable evidence.”

Wisconsin Judge: “Federal judges do not appoint the president in this country. One wonders why the plaintiffs came to federal court and asked a federal judge to do so.”

Trump continues to refuse to accept reality and has kept up his pressure campaign to undermine our democracy.

Despite all of the noise, the truth is evident: Biden won the election and will become president on January 20.

CNN: “All 50 states and DC have now certified their presidential election results”

Associated Press: “There’s plenty of noise but no cause for confusion as President Donald Trump vents about how the election turned out and vows to subvert it even still. This truth is self-evident: Joe Biden is on track to become president Jan. 20. The machinery of government and democracy is moving inexorably toward that end despite Trump’s attempts to undermine the voters’ will.”
