The American Medical Association, American Hospital Association and the American Nurses Union urged Trump to move forward with the transition.
Health Leaders: “Leaders of numerous health organizations have voiced their concerns about how the delay in transition will impact the nation’s public health response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.”
Health Leaders: “In a joint statement released Tuesday morning, the presidents of the American Hospital Association (AHA), the American Medical Association (AMA), and the American Nurses Association (ANA) urged Trump and his administration to ‘work with the incoming Biden administration on COVID-19 response.’”
Fox and Friends’ Brian Kilmeade even said that it was in the nation’s best interest for Trump to start coordination with President-elect Biden on the virus.
CNN’s Brian Stelter: “On ‘Fox & Friends,’ Brian @kilmeade with a message to Trump about the transition: ‘It’s in the country’s best interest if he starts coordinating on the virus and starts coordinating on security with the Biden team.’”
Meanwhile, Trump’s own coronavirus task force has ramped up warnings of further deterioration as the pandemic worsens across the country.

CNN: “The White House coronavirus task force has again ramped up its warnings to states in a weekly set of reports as the pandemic continues to aggressively worsen, raising alarms on the potential impact of rising cases on hospitals. ‘There is now aggressive, unrelenting, expanding broad community spread across the country, reaching most counties, without evidence of improvement but rather, further deterioration. Current mitigation efforts are inadequate and must be increased to flatten the curve to sustain the health system for both Covid and non-Covid emergencies,’ state reports dated November 15 obtained by CNN said.”
