Trump is abusing his power to undermine our democracy and try to overturn the will of the voters. After his legal “strategy” has been a complete failure and become a national laughingstock, Trump is desperately trying to pressure state legislatures to overturn the election results. But nothing Trump can do will change reality, and Republicans and some of his closest allies have increasingly called on him to move on.

In a last ditch effort, Trump is abusing his power to try to pressure Republican-led legislatures to overturn the will of the people.

Politico: “President Donald Trump made explicit Saturday the strategy his legal team has been hinting at for days: He wants Republican-led legislatures to overturn election results in states that Joe Biden won.”

TRUMP: “Why is Joe Biden so quickly forming a Cabinet when my investigators have found hundreds of thousands of fraudulent votes, enough to ‘flip’ at least four States, which in turn is more than enough to win the Election?”

Trump is desperate after his legal “strategy” has become an embarrassment and a complete failure with judges uniformly rejecting his baseless claims.

Associated Press: “Trump’s legal team cried vote fraud, but courts found none”

Associated Press: “The strategy may have played well in front of television cameras and on talk radio to Trump’s supporters. But it has proved a disaster in court, where judges uniformly rejected their claims of vote fraud and found the campaign’s legal work amateurish.”

In Pennsylvania, a judge tossed out the Trump campaign’s suit saying it’s “not how the Constitution works” and calling their claims “unhinged.”

Philadelphia Inquirer: “U.S. District Judge Matthew W. Brann described the case put forth by the president’s campaign as a tortured ‘Frankenstein’s Monster’ and the remedy it sought — effectively disenfranchising nearly seven million voters in the state — as ‘unhinged.’”

The Trump campaign is still trying to invalidate thousands of votes in Wisconsin through a recount and by obstructing the process.

Washington Post: “In last-gasp maneuver, Trump campaign tries to invalidate thousands of votes as Wisconsin recount gets underway”

Associated Press: “Election officials in Wisconsin’s largest county accused observers for President Donald Trump on Saturday of seeking to obstruct a recount of the presidential results, in some instances by objecting to every ballot tabulators pulled to count.”

Trump can’t accept defeat in Georgia and has requested a recount, meaning the votes will be tabulated and Biden will win again, for a third time.

Republicans and Trump’s allies have increasingly come out against his attacks on our democracy and said it’s time to move on.

Sen. Toomey: “President Trump has exhausted all plausible legal options to challenge the result of the presidential race in Pennsylvania.”

Sen. Collins: “There is a right way and a wrong way to compile the evidence and mount legal challenges in our courts. The wrong way is to attempt to pressure state election officials. That undermines the public’s faith in our election results without evidence and court rulings to support the allegations.”

Sen. Murkowski: “A pressure campaign on state legislators to influence the electoral outcome is not only unprecedented but inconsistent with our democratic process. It is time to begin the full and formal transition process.”

Sen. Cramer: “It’s past time to start a transition, to at least cooperate with a transition. I’d rather have a president who has more than one day to prepare.”

Rep. Granger: “I have great concerns about it. I think that it’s time to move on.”

Rep. Upton: “The voters have spoken here in Michigan, a 154,000-vote margin by President-elect Biden. No one has come up with any evidence of fraud or abuse.”

Rep. Cheney: “If the President cannot prove these claims or demonstrate that they would change the election result, he should fulfill his oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States by respecting the sanctity of our electoral process.”

Gov. Hogan: “Now, we are beginning to look like we’re a banana republic. It’s time for them to stop the nonsense. It just gets more bizarre every single day and, frankly, I’m embarrassed that more people in the party aren’t speaking up.”

Chris Christie: “Quite frankly, the conduct of the President’s legal team has been a national embarrassment.”

Blackstone CEO Steve Schwarzman: “The outcome is very certain today, and the country should move on.”
