In her 2020-2021 podcasts, election denier Karamo’s off-the-rails comments show an extreme candidate dangerously unfit to represent the people of Michigan

LANSING —The Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) today released two more in a series of digital ads called Karamo Unplugged, which highlights the dangerous and bizarre assertions spouted by GOP Secretary of State candidate Kristina Karamo on her 2020-2021 podcast.

Last week, we heard Karamo share her deeply weird views on how demonic possessioncan be passed from one person to another during “intimate relationships,” and her commitment to criminalizing abortion even for victims of rape or incest.

In the digital ads released today, Karamo calls fellow Republican U.S. Rep. Fred Upton and other members of her own party “traitors.” And she accuses the Democratic Party of “ushering in the Antichrist system” – going so far as to call Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock, who is a Baptist pastor, “a prophet of the devil.”

“Kristina Karamo’s false claims of ballot fraud and her embrace of conspiracy theories are already well-documented,” said MDP chair Lavora Barnes. “But in these new ads, Karamo shows us just how deeply her political extremism runs – from defaming members of her own party, to rummaging around in her grab bag of demonic insults to disparage all Democrats, including Sen. Warnock, senior pastor of Atlanta’s Ebenezer Baptist Church.”

And: “The Democratic Party…has been totally taken over by a Satanic agenda. They are the enemy of America…Raphael Warnock is a prophet of the devil…You, Raphael Warnock are, of your father, the devil. You are an agent of Satan.”“In Karamo world, Republicans are traitors and Democrats are Satanic,” MDP Chair Barnes said. “I have faith that Michigan voters will never allow Kristina Karamo to be Secretary of State where she will only use public office to spread the deep and damaging political divisions she embraces. The last thing on Karamo’s mind is improving branch services or improving elections.”
