Republican Version of Freedom

• Use religious beliefs to discriminate against people of color and LGBTQ people in voting, marriage rights, and the customers that businesses serve.
• Impose religious beliefs on others, such as banning abortion, contraception, and IVF.
• Use the government to monitor women’s reproductive health and doctor visits.
• Ban books and choose what your family can find at the library.
• Allow businesses to pollute the air, water, and land without regulations for higher profits.
• Use your tax dollars to support private schools instead of public schools.
• Allow pharmaceutical companies to charge exorbitant prices for prescription drugs for higher profits.
• Allow financial institutions to charge extra fees and make risky investments for higher profits.
• Deny that climate change is happening and rely on energy from fossil fuels to favor of oil and gas industries.

Democratic Version of Freedom

• Allow people to love whom they please, and to be served by businesses regardless of the customer’s race, religion, or gender.
• Allow women to make decisions regarding their own reproductive health.
• Keep government out of personal health choices. Keeping HIPPA rules for everyone.
• Keep religious extremists from restricting library books on topics they don’t agree with.
• Regulate polluters to ensure clean air, water, and land.
• Fund public schools with skilled teachers to prepare students for productive lives.
• Negotiate for affordable prescription drugs.
• Regulate to stop financial institutions from charging excessive fees and by making risky investments that cause banks to fail.
• Encourage alternative energy systems to control the effects of climate change and move away from fossil fuels such as oil and gas.
