Last month, Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin told a group of conservative activists that he would sign “any bill…to protect life.” When pressed on CBS’s Face the Nation, Youngkin refused to answer if he would “ever pursue a full ban on abortion in Virginia.” Try as he might, Youngkin simply can’t hide from his true, extreme position on abortion.

Youngkin told conservative activists he would happily sign “any bill” to stop abortion.

The Washington Post: “‘Any bill that comes to my desk I will sign happily and gleefully in order to protect life,’ [Youngkin] said in an online forum organized by the Family Foundation of Virginia to celebrate the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.”

And he confirmed as much, indicating the only thing stopping him from signing a total abortion ban are Democrats in the state legislature.

Jonathan Martin, New York Times: “.@GlennYoungkin all but admits the only thing stopping him from pursuing a total abortion ban in Va, a +10 Biden state, is the lack of votes in the legislature”

Why won’t Youngkin be direct with Virginians about being open to signing a total abortion ban?
