Tearing Apart the Federal Government – Happening now

The systemic carnage created by the Republican Trump administration has now spread throughout the country  as indiscriminate mass firings of federal workers and defunding essential programs affect communities large and small across the nation.

I use the term “Republican Trump administration” on purpose to remind  readers that Republicans are responsible for all that has happened and all that will happen as this  administration takes a wrecking ball to the federal government and diminishes America’s standing in the world.

  • Republicans also have the power to stop it.

After gutting the civilian departments of the federal government and neutering the  Congress, the Republican Trump administration’s destruction has turned to the military.

As of this  writing, four top Military officers have been terminated:

  1. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of staff
  2. Chief of Naval  Operations
  3. Vice-Chief of Staff of the Air Force
  4. Coast Guard Commandant (who reports to  the Department of Homeland Security).

Of these, two are females and one is a black man.

Secretary of Defense Hegseth also plans to replace the top JAG (Judge Advocate General)  officers for the Navy, Army, and Air Force

These JAG officers are attorneys who provide nonpartisan  legal advice to their respective branch of the military. Hegseth’s reasons for replacing them is, “We  want lawyers who .... don’t attempt to be roadblocks to anything that happens.” It appears that  Trump plans to give illegal orders to the military and is concerned that the JAGs would get in the way.

The systemic carnage continues at the United Nations where the United States joined a list of autocratic  regimes: Russia, Belarus, North Korea, Nicaragua, and 13 others – to vote  against a resolution  that urged Russia to withdraw from Ukraine, and that blamed the Kremlin for the continued conflict. Instead,  the Republican Trump administration arranged a meeting with President Zelenskyy in the Oval Office  so that Trump and Vance could demonstrate their allegiance to Russian President Putin by blaming the  continuing conflict on Zelenskyy. Remember, the war would end if the Russian military just went back  to Russia where it belongs. It really is that simple.

All but a handful of Republicans in Congress either support the administration’s actions or are too  cowardly to voice their opposition.

However, there is still time to prevent Trump’s complete takeover of  the federal government.

Voters, especially Republican voters, can now give their representatives the  courage to stop this carnage by expressing their outrage over mass firings and tearing apart the government. Stop mass firings of Federal Workers and stop dismantling Federal departments!

  1. Republican voters could have recognized Trump for the lying conman that he is in 2016;
  2. Republican  senators could have convicted him in either of his two impeachments;
  3. The Republican-dominated  Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) could have ruled that Trump engaged in insurrection  and disqualified him from the 2024 election;
  4. SCOTUS could have refused to delay his trials on  felony charges related to his attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election and also to steal classified national security documents;
  5. Republican voters could have rejected him in the 2024 primary
  6. The a slight majority of Americans could have rejected him in the 2024 election.

However,  none of those happened. Yes, Trump lied; he lied to all of us. Unfortunately, too many voters either didn’t figure out he was lying or did figure it out but didn’t care. Either way, here we are....
