Van Buren Democrats Statement of Beliefs

America has seen an unprecedented increase in violent actions by our government. 

Recently- in Venezuela and surrounding waters and in our own cities. Justifications are offered, but they seem flimsy and vary from moment to moment and may not reflect the actual motivations. 

• Are these events designed to distract us from current issues like Epstein files and problems with the economy or health care? 
• Are they cover for individuals in government looking to increase their own wealth? 
• Or, even more disturbingly, are they calculated to simply increase our acceptance of violence as a fact of our lives? 

We call on all of us to contemplate what is happening and to consider if these actions fit in with our sense of what is decent -what is right or wrong- in the ways we treat others in the world. 

Stepping beyond considerations of what is legal or constitutional, is this the kind of country we want to live in? No.
