This week, the DNC is holding a Defend Choice, Vote Early Week of Action, which will run through October 16 to recruit volunteers, mobilize supporters, and encourage early voting to elect Democrats up and down the ballot to protect abortion rights.
Throughout the week of action, the DNC is organizing daily voter contact events, including events kicked off by Katie Hobbs, Cecile Richards, Amy Schumer, and more. In addition, the DNC is launching a six-figure ad campaign including digital ads encouraging supporters to visit IWILLVOTE.com to make a plan to vote early, and digital ads connecting supporters to state organizing events at DefendChoice.org.
The DNC is also partnering with national groups like Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, EMILY’s List, and others to engage their supporters around Defend Choice, Vote Early Week of Action events in their states.
“Across the country, voters are fired up to hold Republicans accountable for their extreme anti-choice agenda, and this week of action gives voters the tools and opportunity to take action to defend choice by electing Democrats up and down the ballot,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison.
This week of action comes as just the latest part of the DNC’s aggressive campaign to mobilize voters to defend choice following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Earlier this year, in partnership with the DSCC and DCCC, the DNC launched DefendChoice.org, where volunteers can easily connect with the coordinated field campaign in their state, sign up to make calls or send texts through Democrats’ national distributed organizing program, and share their own personal story about the importance of protecting reproductive rights.
The DNC has also launched multiple ad campaigns highlighting Republicans’ work to ban abortion across the country, including a six-figure TV ad buy in states across the country to direct viewers to get involved in the fight to protect abortion access at DefendChoice.org, and multiple digital ad campaigns.
