After months of wasting time and taxpayer dollars and failing to produce any evidence, MAGA Republicans are charging ahead with their sham impeachment inquiry this week, once again showing the American people that they’d rather put on political theater than do the actual work of governing.
House Republicans are continuing to drag out their sham impeachment inquiry despite the fact that GOP lawmakers have publicly conceded that they have no evidence to show for their monthslong probe.
USA Today: “Mitt Romney says he doesn’t see ‘any evidence’ to authorize Joe Biden impeachment inquiry”
Rep. Ken Buck: “The time for impeachment is the time when there’s evidence linking President Biden, if there’s evidence linking President Biden to a high crime or misdemeanor, that doesn’t exist right now.”
Rep. Darrell Issa: “The actual participation by the vice president and now president—that still has to be discovered and/or nailed down.”
CNN: “And one GOP lawmaker, granted anonymity to speak more freely, offered an even blunter assessment: ‘There’s no evidence that Joe Biden got money, or that Joe Biden, you know, agreed to do something so that Hunter could get money. There’s just no evidence of that. And they can’t impeach without that evidence. And I don’t I don’t think the evidence exists.’”
Rep. Chuck Edwards: “I’ve heard over and over that President Biden has not been implicated or proven for any wrongdoing here, and I acknowledge that.”
Sen. Shelley Moore: “‘I don’t know what the evidence is,’ said Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of Senate GOP leadership, making clear she didn’t think the House had sufficient grounds to move forward.”
Stephen Neukam: “Newsy: Rep. Don Bacon, R-Neb., told a small group of reporters this morning that there are “probably not” high crimes or misdemeanors that Joe Biden has committed. But he still plans to vote to authorize the impeachment inquiry.”
Even Fox News’ conservative pundits are admitting that the inquiry is a complete sham and a waste of time.

Not only has the House GOP failed to produce any shred of evidence, but Republicans have openly admitted that the stunt is politically motivated.

MAGA Republicans are putting on this political theater for an audience of one – Donald Trump. Instead of doing the work of governing, they’re doing his bidding and trying to score cheap political points.
CNN: “Donald Trump has publicly and privately encouraged House Republicans’ push to impeach President Joe Biden ahead of their potential rematch in 2024, two sources close to the former president said.”
Associated Press: “It’s a political escalation, urged on by Trump, after his own two impeachments. Trump: “And had they not done it to me, I think, and nobody officially said this, but I think had they not done it to me … perhaps you wouldn’t have it being done to them.”
New York Magazine: “In December 2019, when he was facing impeachment for his scheme to extort Ukraine into smearing his leading political opponent, President Donald Trump warned that his party would take revenge when it had the opportunity. ‘Some day there’ll be a Democrat president and there’ll be a Republican House, and I suspect they’re going to remember it,’ Trump predicted.”
