Known conspiracy theorist Tudor Dixon has a long history of pushing baseless lies about the integrity of the 2020 election. Her effort to undermine the democratic process has now extended to her refusal to accept the results of the election in November.
Dixon “has said repeatedly that the 2020 election was stolen” and agreed during multiple Republican primary debates “that widespread election fraud changed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Michigan.”
For years, Dixon has stoked public distrust in the democratic process and spread lies about Michigan’s elections with absolutely no proof to back up her claims. This raises the following questions that voters Michiganders concerned about the strength of our democracy deserve an immediate answer to and reporters should ask:
- Will Tudor Dixon make a public commitment to Michiganders that she will accept the results of the 2022 election?
- If there’s “no reason to believe” Michigan officials are capable of conducting a fair election, why hasn’t Dixon challenged or cast doubt on the results of the GOP gubernatorial primary?
- Does Dixon still maintain that Trump legitimately won Michigan in 2020?
- Would Dixon have certified the results of the 2020 election that showed Trump lost to President Biden by 154,188 votes?
- If elected, will Dixon put taxpayer dollars towards an unnecessary statewide audit of the 2020 results?
