In the states this week, local news highlighted President Biden’s new budget proposal, which will invest in America, lower costs for families, protect and strengthen Medicare and Social Security, and reduce the deficit by nearly $3 trillion over the next decade. On the flip side, MAGA Republicans across the country continue to put their extreme agenda on full display, from introducing new draconian abortion bans to doubling down on their support for cuts to Social Security and Medicare.

And across the country, Republicans in state legislatures continue their efforts to deny women the right to make their own health care decisions — with Florida Republicans introducing a bill to ban abortion after six weeks and Kansas Republicans pushing more plans to target reproductive rights in the state.
