Today, President Biden is headed to Poughkeepsie, New York to tout IBM’s investment of $20 billion in the state over the next decade, including a new facility to manufacture semiconductor chips. This comes on the heels of Micron’s new commitment to invest up to $100 billion over 20 years in chips manufacturing facilities, an investment that is expected to help create 45,000 jobs right here in the United States.

American manufacturing is resurging and American workers are winning thanks to President Biden’s economic agenda and Democrats’ passage of the CHIPS and Science Act. The majority of congressional Republicans, including New York U.S. Representatives Lee Zeldin (NY-01), Andrew Garbarino (NY-02), Nicole Malliotakis (NY-11), Elise Stefanik (NY-21), Claudia Tenney (NY-22), and Joe Sempolinski (NY-23) sided with China and voted against the legislation that helped make these investments possible.
